WMV files: how to open and convert them
Windows Media Video — Microsoft's closed format from the Silverlight era.
What this site can do with WMV
- Open and read: yes
- Write and convert to: no honest browser encoder exists
- Compression: lossy — a quality slider applies when encoding
- Animation: supported
Plays back fine; new encodes go to MP4/WEBM instead — nobody should be creating new WMV.
