This tool only inspects and reports — it never removes, strips, or redacts anything; use a redaction tool such as Auto Redact PII for that. Sensitive-pattern detection is regex-based and best-effort: unusual formats, scanned images without a text layer, or non-US identifiers may be missed. Password-protected PDFs are reported as encrypted, but their content cannot be scanned until they are unlocked.

How to use this tool

  1. Add the PDF you want inspected via the file picker or drag-and-drop — every check runs locally and the original file is never modified.
  2. The scanner automatically reads document metadata, XMP, embedded attachments, annotations, JavaScript actions, form fields, external links, and the text of every page.
  3. Review each finding by severity (info, low, medium, high), with the reason it matters explained next to it.
  4. Use the report to decide next steps in a removal or redaction tool, such as Auto Redact PII, before sharing the file.
