How to use this tool

  1. Add a PDF with the file picker or drag-and-drop. Its text is read in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
  2. Choose whether to search every page or only a list of specific pages.
  3. Type what you are looking for, using words the document itself would likely use (for example "termination notice period" rather than "how do I quit").
  4. Read the ranked passages. Each one is quoted from the PDF with its page number, so you can jump straight to the source.

About this tool

Search inside a PDF free, entirely in your browser — type a question in the words the document would use and get the best-matching passages quoted with their page numbers. It is keyword search, not an AI chat: it does not write answers. Nothing is uploaded; scanned pages need OCR first.

Privacy & limitations

This is a keyword search, not an AI chat. It ranks passages by the words they share with your question (BM25) and quotes them. It does not write an answer, summarise, or reason across passages. Synonyms are not matched: searching "car" will not find a passage that only says "vehicle". Only the PDF's text layer is searched. Scanned or image-only pages have no extractable text, so run them through OCR first.
