How to use this tool

  1. Add the PDF you want summarized using the file picker or drag-and-drop. Its text is read on your device and never uploaded.
  2. Choose which pages to cover: the whole document or a specific list of page numbers.
  3. Pick a layout (executive paragraph, detailed, bullets, study notes grouped by page, or an action-item checklist) and a length (short, medium or long).
  4. Run it and download the markdown summary. Every sentence shows the page it came from, so you can check it against the original.

About this tool

Summarize a PDF free, entirely in your browser — it picks the most central sentences and quotes them word for word with their page numbers, as a short, medium or long markdown summary. It is extractive, not AI-written, so it never paraphrases. Nothing is uploaded; scanned pages need OCR first.

Privacy & limitations

This is an extractive summary: it picks the most central sentences from the document and quotes them word for word. It does not rewrite, paraphrase or answer questions, and it cannot join ideas that are spread across different sentences. Only text embedded in the PDF is used. Scanned or image-only pages have no extractable text, so run OCR on them first. The summary is always in the document's own language. The language option does not translate anything. Tables, figures and multi-column layouts can split sentences in odd places, which lowers the quality of the picks.
