How to use this tool

  1. Add your files — drag them onto the page or choose them. They stay on your device.
  2. Add the clips.
  3. Run it — the audio track is removed and the picture is copied untouched, so there is no quality loss and no re-encode wait.
  4. Press “Mute videos” and download the results, individually or as one ZIP.

About this tool

Strip the audio track without touching the picture. Free and unlimited, and nothing is uploaded: it all runs in your own browser. Everything is analysed and produced on your own device — nothing is uploaded anywhere, and you can verify it: the tools keep working even offline.

Privacy & limitations

Files over roughly 2 GB, or long 4K videos, can exhaust the browser's memory — everything runs on your machine, so your machine is the limit. Muting copies the video stream; if the source container cannot hold the stream (rare, exotic codecs) the file is re-wrapped into MP4 instead.

Frequently asked questions

Does muting re-encode the video?

No. The picture is copied through untouched and the audio track is simply left out, so it is nearly instant and the video quality is bit-for-bit identical.

Why not just turn the volume down?

Because the sound is still in the file. Anyone who downloads it can turn it back up, and automated copyright matching will still hear the music. Removing the track removes it.

Can I mute only part of the video?

Not here; this removes the track entirely. Silencing a section means trimming the clip into parts and muting the one you want.

Will the file get smaller?

A little. Audio is usually a small share of a video file, so expect to save a few per cent rather than a noticeable amount.
