How to use this tool

  1. Add your files — drag them onto the page or choose them. They stay on your device.
  2. Add the files you suspect contain doubles — exact duplicates are found by their SHA-256 content hash, not their names.
  3. Read the groups: each cluster lists identical files; you decide what to delete, and the report can be downloaded.
  4. Press “Process files” and download the results, individually or as one ZIP.

About this tool

Finds the same picture saved at different sizes and formats, which a checksum never will. Scans a folder on your own machine and uploads nothing. Everything is analysed and produced on your own device — nothing is uploaded anywhere, and you can verify it: the tools keep working even offline.

Privacy & limitations

This finds exact byte-for-byte duplicates only. Near-duplicates (the same photo re-saved or resized) hash differently by design — flagging them would risk deleting the wrong one. Files are hashed in your browser; nothing is uploaded to any hash database.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find duplicate photos that are not identical files?

Compare appearance rather than bytes. A perceptual hash reduces each image to a small pattern of light and dark, which survives resizing and re-encoding.

Does it delete anything?

No. It groups duplicates and suggests which copy to keep, the largest one. Deleting is always your decision, made in your own file manager.

Is this the same as a checksum?

No, and that is the point. A checksum changes completely if one pixel changes, so it never finds a resized or re-saved copy of the same photo.
