How to use this tool
- Add a PDF with the file picker or drag-and-drop — text extraction runs entirely in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
- Choose how the text is produced: natural reading order, the separator used between pages (or one block per page), Unicode normalization (NFC is recommended), and whether you want a single TXT file or a per-page JSON file.
- Check the extracted preview for the pages you care about, then download the TXT or JSON result.
About this tool
Extract text from a PDF free, entirely in your browser — pull out selectable, plain text from any page for copying, searching, or reuse. Nothing is uploaded to a server; extraction runs locally, and the text file downloads straight from your device in moments.
Privacy & limitations
Scanned or image-only PDFs without a text layer contain nothing to extract — run them through this app's OCR tool first to add a searchable text layer, then extract again. Text is re-joined in reading order from the PDF's content, so complex multi-column layouts, tables, or heavily designed pages may not preserve the exact visual reading order you see on screen. Only natural reading order is supported; the PDF's raw content-stream ordering is not exposed by the extraction engine.
