How to use this tool

  1. Add your files — drag them onto the page or choose them. They stay on your device.
  2. Name the ceiling: pick a destination (Discord's 10 MB, Gmail's 25 MB, a WhatsApp sticker's 100 KB) or type a custom size.
  3. The tool binary-searches real encodes — each attempt is a genuine conversion measured by its actual bytes — until the file fits, and stops at the highest quality that does.
  4. Press “Process files” and download the results, individually or as one ZIP.

About this tool

This page opens the size-limit tool for images with a 100 KB budget already set. Add a photo or scan and the tool lowers JPEG quality until the result fits, reducing the pixel dimensions only if quality alone cannot get there, then shows the size it reached. It runs in your browser, so the image is never uploaded.

Privacy & limitations

Every attempt is a real encode, so very large sources take proportionally longer than one fixed-quality conversion; a file whose content genuinely cannot fit at acceptable quality is reported honestly rather than shredded. Destinations with a pixel spec reshape the picture: stickers and favicons are padded to an exact square, thumbnails and social cards are centre-cropped to their aspect ratio, and the output switches to a format the destination accepts. Small images are never enlarged except to reach an exact sticker or favicon size.

Frequently asked questions

Will my image look worse at 100 KB?

Some loss is unavoidable, and how much depends on the picture. A passport-style photo or a signature at 100 KB usually stays clear; a large, detailed photograph may soften or shrink. Quality is lowered first because it is less visible, and the pixel size drops only when no quality setting can fit the limit. Check the preview before you submit it.

What size is 100 KB usually asked for?

Forms that collect a photo or signature often set a low upload cap, and values like 100 KB are common, but each form sets its own. Read the limit and accepted format on the form, then use that number here. The output is a JPEG, which most upload forms accept.

How do I get a file under a specific size?

Give the tool the limit rather than a quality number. It encodes repeatedly and keeps the best result that stays under the size you named.

Will it reduce resolution?

Only if it has to. Quality is lowered first, because that is less visible. Resolution drops only when no quality setting can reach the target.

Does it work for video?

Yes. Video is encoded to a calculated bitrate for its duration, then checked against the limit the same way.
